Right after spring break, we always kick off Shark Right after spring break, we always kick off Shark Week in my classroom. Many students have visited the beach over break, so it is the perfect time to start talking about ocean life. We begin the week with the nonfiction reader and start building our anchor chart together. My students absolutely love Shark Week.

This nonfiction unit is packed with activities that help students learn all about sharks while practicing important informational reading comprehension skills. The resource includes a mini reader that teaches students about sharks along with a matching colorful book filled with real photos. The photo book can be projected with the included Google link, downloaded as a PowerPoint, shared as a PDF, or even printed and placed in your classroom library.

After reading, students can complete engaging comprehension activities, writing extensions, and word work pages. They will also love creating the fun shark coming out of the water craft.

This unit is filled with everything you need to help your students become shark experts while building strong nonfiction reading skills.

This is Unit 13 of the MASTER Math curriculum, focused on collecting data, creating graphs, and answering questions using tally, bar, and picture graphs—all through hands-on, engaging activities your students will LOVE. With a rotation-based approach (Manipulatives, Apply Skills, Small Group, Technology, Enrichment, and Review), students experience math in a variety of meaningful ways while building a strong understanding of graphing concepts.

During this unit we make a picture graph daily to get us started. The kids LOVE all the hands on activities too.

Each lesson starts with an easy-to-follow whole group mini lesson, then students rotate through fun, purposeful activities including games, small group instruction, digital practice, and higher-level thinking tasks.
