Students practice counting objects, making tallies, using ten frames, and working with a number grid to 120 through rotation-based learning that keeps them actively involved the entire time. After a quick whole-group mini lesson, students rotate through hands-on activities, games, small group with the teacher, technology, enrichment, and review. Everything is included from lesson plans and centers to assessments and even a fun craft to wrap up the unit!

This has become one of my favorite ways to start the school year because students are excited about math from day one! 💛

“I loved this giraffe book study. I thought it was great to have a focus on facts about elephants and text features. I purchased the elephant and the giraffe one and then had my students write an opinion piece stating if they liked elephants or giraffes better. The facts were very interesting and my students loved reading about giraffes.”

“I used this for my science unit on comparing and contrasting nonfiction and fiction reading on giraffes with my 3rd-grade students. They were really engaged in the activities, loved the pictures of real giraffes, the vocabulary terms, and the reading level was great for differentiation. This was an excellent source for teaching nonfiction.“
