Do you need some paired passages for President’s D Do you need some paired passages for President’s Day? 💘
These February paired passages are perfect for practicing reading comprehension and compare-and-contrast skills in a meaningful, no-prep way. There are 8 passages with kid-friendly themes for the month, including Valentine’s Day, George Washington, Abe Lincoln, and Snow. They work beautifully for whole group, small group, or independent practice with your fluent readers.
After reading, students answer comprehension questions and illustrate part of the passage. They can also reread for fluency practice. Then, they use the included Venn diagram to compare both passages—either writing similarities and differences or cutting and pasting the provided words onto the sorting mat.
