I am so excited to share this St. Patrick’s Day

I am so excited to share this St. Patrick’s Day CHALLENGE with you and your students! You will begin this activity with a short video that will challenge your students to solve the case of the missing pot of gold. They will have to find out who took them, when they took them, and where they put them. To solve the case, students will work to complete 9 different task cards. The task cards are based on first grade standards in both math and language arts. Once they complete a task card, they will receive a clue. After they have all 9 clues, they will be able to solve the mystery. As a fun culmination, there are awards and headbands. There is a fun little story ending to explain what happened. This goodie comes with a bonus writing extension. They can write about what they love more than gold or hot to catch a leprechaun. This is similar to the who dunnit activities. #whodunnit #solvethemystery #stpatricksday

💚This activity was a hit with my students. It was a great, comprehensive activity that allowed for review and reinforcement of learned skills and introductions to new skills. Students were engaged and loved working together to solve the mystery.

I love to learn about George Washington in February for President’s Day. This unit includes a mini reader that will teach them all about our first President, The Father of our Country. This mini unit is a great way to compare and contrast George Washington and Abraham Lincoln during President’s Day week. Inside you will receive a book that students can read to learn about both and find their similarities and differences. After reading the story, you can work on nonfiction reading comprehension, work work activities, and writing. As a fun cumulative activity, you can put your students in groups to create posters using the blank cards. My students love doing this activity every year and sharing their finished posters. This is part of my President’s Day Week Long Bundle.
